The much-anticipated debut album TRUE by Swedish DJ Avicii is set to be released on the 17th of September 2013. Avicii’s, 23, lead single ‘Wake Me Up!’ peaked at number one in ten countries worldwide.

Also known for ‘Levels’, a hit single that Avicii released in 2011 with sample lyrics and vocals from Etta James’ 1962 song ‘Something’s Got a Hold on Me’. Rapper Flo-Rida primarily used ‘Levels’ for his worldwide smash hit ‘Good Feeling’.

Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, has already accomplished musical milestones such as becoming the first DJ to sell out and headline the world famous Radio City Music Hall.

True includes many artists from different genres such as Adam Lambert, Aloe Blacc and Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds. These collaborations combine influences from R&B, House, Rock and Funk. For the first time ever, Avicii has merged country music and Electronic Dance Music (EDM) together.

‘Diverse’ and ‘unconventional’ are the best words to describe the Swede’s new album. Many would describe Avicii as the ‘missing piece of the puzzle’ for EDM mainstream music.

“This is about me being true to my sound but also to my own influences and musical preferences, it consists 100% of songs I personally love. It's true to me, true to my brand, true to Avicii,” he told Billboard. Avicii is also co-producing the album.
