Released in June 2013, J. Cole’s long-awaited second album Born Sinner features Cole’s top successful single ‘Power Trip’, which he made in collaboration with R&B singer Miguel.

Lyrically, Cole is one of the best out there but competition is fierce. He has two strong opponents in his league: Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.

Not only does he have to compete with these two but he also has to contend with rap legends such as Kanye West and Nas. On Cole’s track ‘Let Nas Down’, he raps about disappointing Nas and being displeased about his previous recorded single ‘Work Out’.

J. Cole's Born Sinner and West's Yeezus have both reached gold by surpassing 500 000 units. Not bad for a rapper with his second album. The album reached number One on the US Billboard 200 and US Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums.

Cole produced the album and earned positive feedback from supporters and music critics alike. Cole mentioned that he felt freer while recording this album than he did with his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story, which was released in 2011.

J. Cole has established his career with this album and shown that he is here to stay. Go get yours now!
